Girls Who Code is on a mission to close the gender gap in technology and to change the image of what a programmer looks like and does.
The Girls Who Code chapter at Amador Valley High School will hold a one-day summit that teams elementary and middle school girls, high school student mentors, and female industry professionals in developing Android apps. The summit aims to expose young girls to the fundamentals of coding, problem solving, design, and development of software in an inclusive environment. The event will take place on March 7th, 2020, in alignment with International Women’s Day.
A donation of $100 will sponsor a girl for this incredible opportunity. Your donation will purchase an Android tablet for each participant, cover fees for our inspirational guest speakers, pay for facility use fees and tech support, and gift t-shirts to each participant that remind our girls that a career in computer science is an investment in the future.
